Job Description

 Martini Akpovi Partners, LLP seeks a Tax Advisor in Encino, CA. Job duties include:

  • Counsel clients regarding acquisition and divestment of key assets
  • Restructuring of assets to obtain the greatest tax advantages and disposal of businesses to management while minimizing tax consequences
  • Structure business entities in the U.S. for clients in order to achieve their strategic goals
  • Provide strategic cross-border advice to Australian expatriates and business entities seeking to relocate to or engage in business in the U.S., Singapore, Hong Kong and the U.K


  • At least a Master of Taxation or equivalent as determined by a qualified credentials evaluation service
  • At least three years of professional experience within the taxation field
  • Must have at least three years of experience in transactional projects, namely international expansion, mergers and acquisitions, management buy-outs and corporate and trust restructuring
  • Must have at least three years of experience advising companies on the structuring/restructuring of their businesses, on tax-effective ways to acquire stocks and real estate, on making direct investments in the U.S. and on licensing Intellectual Property rights
  • Must be willing to travel to unanticipated work sites. Must have advanced knowledge of Australian tax law, namely income tax and capital gains tax



Job Description

The Tax Senior is responsible for the preparation of a full range of tax services for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the tax managers and partners to plan and manage multiple client engagements while understanding clients’ goals and needs
  • Preparing complex income tax returns including Corporate, S-Corp., partnership, and individual clients
  • Maintaining active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively
  • Ensuring quality of work product and communicating progress to managers and partners
  • Assisting, supervising and mentoring junior team members

Qualifications & Required Experience

  • CPA required
  • Bachelors in Accounting or Business with a strong emphasis in accounting
  • 3+ years recent experience with a CPA firm
  • Tax preparation experience of privately held companies and high net worth individuals
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and budgets
  • Proven track record of proactively pursuing professional development activities



Job Description

This position is responsible for the full scope of audit and accounting engagements from planning through completion. Further, this position is an important part of our team and will work directly with clients from diverse industries. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading audits in accordance to GAAP and GAAS standards
• Overseeing staff on pre-audit planning and field work for engagements, reviewing client accounting and operating procedures
• Working with Managers and Partners in preparing risk assessment, audit plan programs and internal audit reports
• Evaluating client’s internal controls
• Reviewing any significant findings with Manager or Partner

Qualifications & Required Experience

• 3+ years of recent audit experience at a CPA firm
• Financial statement audit experience of privately held companies
• Ability to research technical issues
• Staff supervisory experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and budgets
• Proven track record of proactively pursuing professional development activities
• Competency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
